About the role
The Training Specialist will work closely with trainees to assess their needs, set development goals, and provide hands-on coaching in both soft and technical skills. They will deliver individualized or group coaching sessions focused on skill-building (e.g., communication, job readiness, safety standards, etc). Facilitate in car and classroom training sessions and track performance, give constructive feedback, and determine readiness for skills assessments.
Responsibilities
- Maintain Transdev’s high standard of safety, inside and outside of the vehicle;
- Consistently demonstrate situational awareness, an understanding of the technology in his/her care, and a willingness to constantly adjust to changes in the environment;
- Be the deputy for technology by communicating courteously always with management, engineers, and the public;
- Operate with safety as the primary goal.
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years of experience driving on public roads. Additional experience is preferred;
- A High School Diploma or GED required. Four-year college degree (preferred) in a related field like industrial or applied sciences;
- Minimum 3 months operating and testing autonomous vehicle required.
Qualifications
- Proficiency with a laptop computer and GSuite apps (i.e. Gmail, Hangouts, and Driver, including Sheets and Docs);
- Proficiency with using a touchscreen smartphone (Android preferred by not required).
Skills and Abilities (KSAs)
- Good attention to detail and be able to quickly and concisely describe their thoughts;
- Capable of responding quickly and simultaneously to multiple scenarios;
- Adapt quickly to new and developing technology;
- Cross-functional verbal and written communication and issue escalation;
- Ability to work specific shifts, including early mornings, evenings, and/or weekends, as well as overnight shifts and ability to travel up to 30% of the time;
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
- Self-motivated and demonstrate good judgment, in fast-paced, high stress environments.
Physical Requirements
- Long periods of standing, walking, and sitting.
- Use hands to finger; handle or feel; and talk or hear.
- Climb stairs and/or ladders.
- Sometimes reach with hands and arms.
- Climb or balance.
- Stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Occasionally lift and/or move up to 45 pounds.
- Use close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
- Most work is accomplished outdoors in a vehicle.
Pre-Employment Requirements
- Must be 21 years old;
- All Transdev employees must satisfactorily complete a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
- Safety Sensitive Positions will also be subject to a physical screening.
- Transdev may require participation in a random drug screening program.
- Employees must maintain an acceptable Driving Record suitable to being approved to drive as part of their regular duties.
- Records are monitored on an ongoing or regular basis pursuant to local state law.
- Ability to qualify for an Autonomous Vehicle Tester (AVT) license in states and positions where it's required.
