L&D RN (Registered Nurse) - Contract

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated Labor & Delivery nurse to provide compassionate care during labor, delivery, and postpartum stages. The role involves monitoring patient conditions, administering medications such as magnesium, insulin, and pitocin, and collaborating with the healthcare team to develop personalized care plans. The nurse will educate and support patients and families throughout the birthing process and may float across multiple campuses as needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive labor, delivery, and postpartum care
• Monitor vital signs and fetal heart rates
• Administer medications and manage patient conditions
• Support patient education and emotional well-being
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams

Requirements

• At least 2 years of experience in postpartum, mother-baby, and labor & delivery care
• Experience with C-section and vaginal deliveries, including triage
• Intermediate or Advanced EFM / AWHONN certification
• Active RN license in Iowa or a multistate license
• CPR/BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications
• Previous travel assignment within the last 12 months
