Kubernetes Architect
Requirements
The Kubernetes Architect designs and manages large-scale Kubernetes environments supporting containerized workloads across the A1 MCE platform. This role is Hybrid at our San Antonio office and requires a Secret security clearance.
- Architect and operate enterprise Kubernetes clusters.
- Implement security hardening and compliance within container platforms.
- Define container platform standards and governance.
- Provide architecture guidance for containerized applications to Lead Cloud Architect and government stakeholders.
- Ensure scalability, performance, and security of container workloads.
- Support multi-cloud container orchestration strategies.
- Support monitoring and logging for container environments.
- Collaborate with cloud architects and engineering teams.
Qualifications
Job-Specific Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Architect and operate enterprise Kubernetes clusters.
- Implement security hardening and compliance within container platforms.
- Define container platform standards and governance.
- Provide architecture guidance for containerized applications to Lead Cloud Architect and government stakeholders.
- Ensure scalability, performance, and security of container workloads.
- Support multi-cloud container orchestration strategies.
- Support monitoring and logging for container environments.
- Collaborate with cloud architects and engineering teams.
Job-Specific Minimum Requirements:
- Active Secret security clearance.
- Ability to commute on-site as needed to San Antonio, Texas.
- 5+ years Kubernetes platform experience.
- Advanced certification (CKA, CKS).
- Active IAT/IAM Level II certification.
Preferred Skills and Qualifications
- Experience with DoD cloud environments (e.g., Platform One, Cloud Once, AWS Gov Cloud, etc.) and Kubernetes-based PaaS.
- Expertise with service mesh (Istio/Linkerd) and ingress architectures.
- Experience in multi-cluster / multi-region deployments to include scaling best practices and related strategies.
- Knowledge of container security (runtime protection, image scanning).
- Familiarity with GitOps (ArgoCD, Flux) and platform automation.
Pay
Annual salary is just one component of Maximus's total compensation package. Other rewards may include short- and long-term incentives as well as program-specific awards. Compensation ranges may differ based on contract value but will be commensurate with job duties and relevant work experience.
