The role of Kitchen Steward is crucial in ensuring the smooth operation of the kitchen department. The Kitchen Steward is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and orderliness in the kitchen area, managing inventory, and assisting with food preparation.
Responsibilities
- Maintain cleanliness and orderliness in the kitchen area
- Manage inventory levels and ensure proper ordering
- Aid in food preparation as needed
- Assist with meal planning and menu development
- Ensure adherence to health and safety regulations
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience in a food service environment
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation (if applicable)
Qualifications
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Knowledge of basic kitchen equipment and procedures
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
