About the role
As part of your role, your key responsibilities will include:
- Cleaning and sanitising all preparation and storage areas, kitchen walls, stoves, sinks, ovens, and grills
- Washing dirty dishes, cutting boards, utensils, and cooking equipment and ensuring that all cookware, utensils, and cutlery are clean and ready for service
- Receiving, unpacking all deliveries and checking the delivery against what has been ordered, highlighting any discrepancies to the site manager
- Ensuring that the food and supply storage areas are organised
- Removing the rubbish and emptying of bins, waste, and recycling in the kitchen
- Assisting with food preparation when needed
Requirements
- Must have the Right to Work in the UK
- City & Guilds certification, BTEC, or NVQ at a basic level is required
- Completing a food hygiene course at Level 2 would be desirable
- Commercial kitchen experience is highly valued but not essential
- Basic Catering and Hospitality certificate such as Food Handling or equivalent is desired but not essential (training can be provided)
- Excellent time management skills and ability to work under pressure
- Excellent organisational skills
- Ability to stand for extended periods due to the physical nature of the job
- Excellent customer service skills
