Kitchen Porter

About the role

As part of your role, your key responsibilities will include:

• Cleaning and sanitising all preparation and storage areas, kitchen walls, stoves, sinks, ovens, and grills
• Washing dirty dishes, cutting boards, utensils, and cooking equipment and ensuring that all cookware, utensils, and cutlery are clean and ready for service
• Receiving, unpacking all deliveries and checking the delivery against what has been ordered, highlighting any discrepancies to the site manager
• Ensuring that the food and supply storage areas are organised
• Removing the rubbish and emptying of bins, waste, and recycling in the kitchen
• Assisting with food preparation when needed

Requirements

• Must have the Right to Work in the UK
• City & Guilds certification, BTEC, or NVQ at a basic level is required
• Completing a food hygiene course at Level 2 would be desirable
• Commercial kitchen experience is highly valued but not essential
• Basic Catering and Hospitality certificate such as Food Handling or equivalent is desired but not essential (training can be provided)
• Excellent time management skills and ability to work under pressure
• Excellent organisational skills
• Ability to stand for extended periods due to the physical nature of the job
• Excellent customer service skills
