About the role
The Kitchen Manager will manage all aspects of the kitchen and staff to produce consistent, safe, and high-quality cannabis-infused edibles. This role oversees daily kitchen operations, ensuring compliance with regulations and maintaining the highest levels of safety and cleanliness.
Responsibilities
- Build organizational capability; develop and motivate the team through career coaching and training aligned with business goals.

- Achieve and deliver results; ensure quality interactions, execute timely and consistently, and meet targets.
- Manage the kitchen work environment to optimize efficiency, accuracy, and quality of cannabis-infused products.
- Review and refine Standard Operating Procedures for kitchen equipment and processes.
- Drive innovation and continuous improvement to strengthen the company’s reputation and success.
- Develop and maintain product specification documents, recipes, formulas, and food safety plans.
- Train, develop, and assess kitchen staff in all aspects of production.
- Work with leadership to develop QA/QC and analytical testing for quality, consistency, and efficacy, while improving workflow.
- Regularly audit inventory to ensure compliance.
- Execute a cleaning and maintenance schedule for the kitchen and equipment as required by procedures and manufacturer specs.
- Maintain a safety-first mindset; hold self and team accountable to reduce exposure and risk.
- Assist with other tasks as assigned by the Facility Director.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent (required).
- Degree in Food Science (preferred).
- Minimum of 5+ years of management experience in a commercial kitchen or food production environment.
- Experience producing candies, chocolates, cookies, brownies, and other baked goods (preferred).
- Familiarity with cannabis or infusions (preferred).
- Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and maintain a positive attitude with strong attention to detail.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Food Handlers/ServSafe certificate (preferred).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Must meet the minimum age required by state regulations.
- Ability to pass state-mandated background check(s).
- Strong leadership skills; ability to lead, coach, and develop direct reports.
- Builds trust within the team and values differences.
- Ability to complete and pass Food Handlers/ServSafe certification.
Skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Ability to learn and navigate seed-to-sale tracking software.

Schedule
Full-time, exempt position.
Work Environment and Physical Demands
- Manufacturing environment requiring extended time standing, walking, bending, and reaching.
- Ability to carry up to 50 lbs for distances up to 100 ft may be required.
- Occasional extended and repetitive use of arms, hands, and fingers to cut and manipulate small objects.
- Ability to work in a humid and pollinated environment.
