Kitchen Manager In-Training

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated and health-conscious individual to join our kitchen team. This position plays a crucial role in providing nutritious meals to our students and staff, ensuring they have the energy to engage in play, discovery, and growth.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a clean and safe work environment and practice food safety policies
• Prepare high-quality food items according to recipes and instructions to meet individual classroom mealtimes
• Respects and understands food allergies or family dietary preferences and provides alternatives as needed
• Clean and sanitize kitchen after preparation and serving
• Ensures food is at correct temperature and is attractive and tasty
• Records daily refrigerator and freezer temperature checks
• Cleans and sanitizes kitchen after preparation and serving
• Maintains a clean, orderly, and neat refrigerators and storerooms
• Stores and discards of excess food in accordance with safe food-handling procedures
• Operates and maintains kitchen equipment as instructed
• Creates and orders menu items for weekly grocery shopping
• Picks up food order and delivers to the center, ensuring timely delivery and accounting for all items

Requirements

While not specified, candidates should demonstrate a passion for children and nutrition, as well as a commitment to maintaining a clean and safe work environment.

Qualifications

Experience in a similar role is preferred, but training will be provided if necessary. Food Safety Manager certification is preferred but not required.

Pay

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00 per hour.

Schedule

Hours are Monday through Friday from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
