Kitchen Custodian - Glacier National Park

About the role

Join our Food & Beverage team in Glacier National Park as a Kitchen Steward. You’ll play an essential role in maintaining a clean, organized, and efficient kitchen, ensuring warm and friendly hospitality for all guests while serving as a proud steward of the park.

Responsibilities

• Communicate closely with Chef on Duty.
• Ensure the kitchen area is clean, well maintained, and organized at all times.
• Maintain dry and clean floors.
• Oversee all equipment is clean and in good working order.
• Keep waste areas clean and tidy.
• Supervise and train Kitchen Workers in the dish-pit area.
• Ensure Xanterra and National Park Service standards are met throughout the kitchen area.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Ability to oversee the operation and sanitation of the kitchen area.
• Familiarity with proper use of chemicals, and draining and filling dish machines.
• Experience as a supervisor or lead role in a Back of the House/dish-pit function.
• Ability to communicate clearly to foster a teamwork environment.
• Ability to remain calm in a fast-paced, high-stress environment.

Physical Requirements

• Stand for long periods of time, approximately 8 hours.
• Walk for long periods of time.
• Lift and carry a minimum of 50 pounds.
• Bend, stretch, and reach for extended periods of time.
• Work with chemicals and cleaning solutions.

Pay

$16.65/hour

Schedule

Seasonal position from late-August through late-September 2026. Typical schedule is 40 hours, 5 days per week (may include weekends, evenings, and holidays).
