KITCHEN CLEANER

About the role

When business needs fluctuate throughout the year, Michigan Dining will offer work assignments based on availability and selected through the seniority-driven bidding process. Work assignments may be required in other departments to ensure year-round work schedules for all staff members that want that. Seasonal leave requests may be approved on a year-by-year basis at the unit discretion.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a clean kitchen by removing trash, sweeping and mopping floors, cleaning equipment, filtering fryers, cleaning hood vents and drains, and washing dishes, pots, pans.
• Assist and work with other kitchen cleaners and staff performing general cleaning of kitchen areas.
• Maintain a clean work environment following HACCP standards and health codes.

Requirements

• Proficiency in English and ability to interpret instructions.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule that may include weekends and holidays.
• Ability to assemble, disassemble, and operate kitchen equipment.
• Ability to understand and implement OSEH and HACCP physical and food safety standards and use resources responsibly.
• Ability to recognize and minimize waste.
• Maintain a static position for extended periods of time.
• Routinely move items weighing up to 50 lbs.
• Authorization to work in the U.S. (sponsorship for work visas will not be provided).

Pay

Hourly pay rate: $20.42 - $21.62.

Schedule

• Sunday - Thursday: 3:00pm to 11:30pm
• Friday - Saturday: Off
