We deliver secure, high-quality language access in more than 80 languages for USCIS and other federal agencies. We are seeking Kinyarwanda Over-the-Phone Interpreters (OPI) to support our USCIS contract. Kinyarwanda is a critical rare language often required for asylum, refugee, and immigration cases.
Responsibilities
- Provide real-time Kinyarwanda ↔ English telephonic interpretation for USCIS officers, applicants, and stakeholders.
- Interpret with accuracy, impartiality, and professionalism in legal and immigration contexts.
- Maintain strict confidentiality in line with USCIS/DHS compliance standards.
- Handle both scheduled assignments and urgent/surge requests.
- Participate in training, compliance refreshers, and QA audits.
Qualifications
- Native or near-native fluency in Kinyarwanda and English.
- 2+ years of professional interpreting experience (immigration, community, medical, or government preferred).
- Familiarity with interpreter ethics, confidentiality, and cultural awareness.
- Strong telephone communication skills and ability to remain accurate under pressure.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen or permanent resident eligible for Tier 3/Tier 5 clearance.
