About the role

The Assistant Public Works Director will oversee the day-to-day operations of the Public Works Department, ensuring efficient and effective delivery of services to the community. Reporting directly to the Public Works Director, this position will manage the department's staff, budget, and projects.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the maintenance and repair of public infrastructure including roads, bridges, and utilities.
• Manage the department's budget and ensure compliance with financial regulations.
• Develop and implement long-term plans for the Public Works Department.
• Coordinate with other departments to ensure seamless service delivery.
• Supervise and mentor staff, providing guidance and support to foster professional growth.
• Represent the department at community meetings and events.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of progressive management experience in a similar role.
• Proven ability to manage budgets and projects.
• Strong leadership skills and the ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Pay
