Assistant Public Works Director

Salary range: $130,000 – $150,000, dependent on qualifications.

About the role

The Town of Jackson is seeking a qualified individual to assist in leading the Public Works team. This position reports to the Public Works Director, helping to plan, direct, and coordinate the department’s work plan and management, as well as specifically assigned projects. The Public Works team includes administration, wastewater treatment and collection, streets and infrastructure, water wells and distribution, engineering, fleet maintenance/management, and facilities maintenance.

Ideal candidate profile

• 10+ years of relevant experience, with at least 3 years in a supervisory capacity
• Bachelor’s degree with coursework in engineering, public administration, or a closely related field
• Strong values orientation and local government experience
• Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
