Responsibilities
- Manage, with oversight from Senior Project Managers, all phases of the project.
- Including project initiation, surveying, construction document drawings, and construction administration.
- Translate projects from schematic design into construction documents; coordinating the full project scope with the designer, consultants and client.
- Leading a production team during construction documents phase for completion of contract documents.
- Able to coordinate with consultants and engineers throughout construction document and administration phases.
- Serves as a client liaison to bring the project schedule, budget and scope to satisfactory completion.
- Able to work well and collaborate, with a team as well as work independently with a self-driven work ethic.
- Lead meetings and presentations with clients, and consultants.
- Review drawings for precision and accuracy, including building codes, scope of work, and design intent.
- Select, specify, and coordinate equipment and finishes.
- Lead architectural construction administration; RFIs, submittals, on-site construction visits, accurately recording construction progression, Contractor interfacing, and project punch lists.
Qualifications
- 10-15 years of full-time relevant post-graduation experience.
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s in Architecture from a NAAB accredited institution.
- On the path to licensure. Architecture License is a plus.
- Comprehensive knowledge of commercial architecture and construction techniques, primarily ground-up construction including Educational and Healthcare Facilities.
- Ability to perform QA/QC review of contract documents.
- Working knowledge of AIA contracts and bid management/negotiation procedures.
- Proficient with CD set production in Revit and in AutoCAD Architecture.
- Working knowledge of Adobe suite, Photoshop, and InDesign.
- Comprehensive understanding of National Building Codes (IBC), Life Safety, Accessibility Guidelines.
- Familiarity with various NFPA standards (i.e. NFPA 13/70/80/101), and other trade-based standards (TCNA, AWI, etc).
- Problem solving skills, resolving issues that arise while keeping in mind client’s needs, budget, scope and contract.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Has the ability to provide a mentoring role for junior architects/designers.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Driver’s license, personal vehicle, and the ability to commute to Hoboken and Morristown is required.
