About the role
Old Colony YMCA Plymouth Branch is hiring for KidZone, our onsite child care for members while they work out. Join our team and make a difference in a fun environment working with kids.
Schedule
- Monday–Friday: 8:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m.
- Monday–Thursday: 4:45 p.m.–7:15 p.m.
- Saturday–Sunday: 8:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m.
Responsibilities
- Provide friendly, courteous service to all members and clients of the Old Colony Y.
- Contribute to a positive work environment by demonstrating pride in the job, enthusiasm, and cooperation with co-workers.
- Ensure KidZone follows Old Colony YMCA monthly themes and enthusiastically represents the monthly Association project.
- Use KidZone as a medium for purposeful communication with participants about program, membership, and event priorities; connect KidZone families to opportunities that best fit their needs.
- Supervise children ages 6 weeks to 8 years in a healthy, safe environment, ensuring they participate in fun and constructive activities.
- Maintain appropriate behavior management of children at all times in accordance with the Old Colony Y Child Care Policy.
- Keep accurate daily attendance records, ensuring children and caregivers abide by sign-in and out policies.
- Understand branch Emergency Procedures, participate in drills, and maintain safety at all times, including accurate registration records.
- Report all accidents and incidents to supervisor, branch leadership on duty, and via Logic Manager immediately.
- Attend required staff meetings and complete any job-related trainings.
- Work with fellow KidZone staff to actively supervise children from all angles, actively discussing and minimizing potential blind spots.
- Represent the Old Colony Y in an enthusiastic and positive manner, providing friendly, convenient, and courteous service.
- Understand the integral role of KidZone in the overall member experience and provide quality supervision and care at all times.
- Keep the environment clean, safe, and attractive at all times.
- Uphold the code of conduct and ensure all job responsibilities reflect the mission of the Old Colony Y.
- Display and encourage the character traits of caring, respect, responsibility, and honesty in the fulfillment of job duties.
Requirements
- Minimum of 16 years of age.
- Must enjoy working with and building assets in children.
- Clear communication skills.
- Current CPR and First Aid Certifications—must obtain within 30 days of hire.
- Physical ability to lift small children up to 40 lbs.
- Must be able to sit, stand, walk, and bend throughout the work day.
