About the role
The Montefiore Einstein Transplant Center is seeking an accomplished surgical leader to serve as Director of its large, academic Kidney/Pancreas Transplant Program in New York.
Responsibilities
- Lead the kidney and pancreas transplant program, ensuring high-quality outcomes and adherence to best practices.
- Manage the transplant and non-transplant operations, including living donor nephrectomy and general surgery in dialysis patients.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support the comprehensive solid organ transplant programs, including liver, kidney, heart, lung, and living donor liver and kidney programs.
- Oversee the integration of the transplant program into the broader healthcare system, including the inpatient transplant unit and accredited ASTS transplant fellowship.
- Develop and implement strategies to enhance organ utilization and improve patient outcomes.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and accreditation requirements.
Requirements
- Proven record of academic achievement.
- Minimum of five years of post-fellowship experience in kidney and pancreas transplantation.
- Expertise in living donor nephrectomy and pancreas transplantation.
- An assertive and innovative approach to organ utilization.
Qualifications
- MD or equivalent degree from an accredited medical school.
- Board certification in surgery or related field.
- Experience in academic medicine and teaching.
- Strong leadership and operational acumen.
Skills
- Exceptional technical expertise in kidney and pancreas transplantation.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Benefits
- Salary range: $450k to $700k based on academic rank and experience.

Scheduled Hours: 8 AM-5:30 PM
