Medical Director Transplant Nephrology

About the role

The West Virginia University Health System, the state's largest health system and largest private employer, comprises 18 hospitals throughout the state and bordering states. In addition, it includes five institutes, as well as providing management services for other local hospitals through affiliate agreements. Responsibilities

• Practice in Morgantown, WV, with potential for additional worksites in West Virginia and Pennsylvania.
• Provide medical leadership to the renal transplant program.
• Work with the Surgical Director to ensure the ongoing clinical operations of the kidney transplant program.
• Guide the evaluation and planning for kidney and heart/kidney transplant patients.
• Participate in the growth of the program with the other members of the leadership team.
• Teach medical students, residents, and fellows, as well as mentor Transplant Staff.
• Support the Nephrology section clinical practice needs on a regular basis.

Requirements

• MD or DO degree or foreign equivalent and eligibility for state medical license.
• Completed fellowship in nephrology and fellowship in transplant nephrology.
• Board certified in internal medicine and certified / eligible in nephrology.
• At least one year of experience in transplant nephrology.
