Key Attendant

Responsibilities

• Ensure an appropriate number of cars are kept on location throughout the shift, parked correctly, and that the lot remains clean and presentable.
• Direct incoming customers to available parking spaces.
• Count vehicles on location throughout the shift as needed.
• Write and issue violation warnings to tenants and visitors who violate garage policies.
• Patrol transient and reserved parking levels on foot or in customized motor carts, if applicable.
• Assist customers who have forgotten where they parked their vehicle.
• Maintain scheduled attendance, arrive on time, and wear the required uniform.
• Courteously answer customer questions and, when necessary, refer them to the Facility Manager.
• Control traffic at entrances and exits as needed.
• Assist in the maintenance and repair of parking equipment and perform general maintenance tasks as directed by the Facility Manager.
• Report accidents, policy violations, safety hazards, or any unusual occurrences to the Facility Manager.
• Communicate debris, water, oil spills, etc., to the garage office.
• Substitute for valets when authorized.
• Maintain thorough knowledge of all garage areas, major streets, landmarks, and freeways surrounding the garage.
• Assist the Facility Manager with other duties as needed.

Qualifications

• Education/Experience: Less than high school education or one month related experience, training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• License Requirement: Valid state‑issued driver’s license with a current address and acceptable driving record (required if driving a company vehicle or on company business).
• Availability: May require 2nd shift, 3rd shift, and/or weekends depending on location hiring needs.
• Language Skills: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos; write simple correspondence; and present information effectively in one‑on‑one situations with customers and employees.
• Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide two‑digit numbers and larger amounts, including operations involving U.S. currency.
• Appearance: Must maintain a neat, clean appearance and wear the complete uniform at all times.
• Physical Demands: Regularly required to stand, walk, and use hands to handle cash and equipment; occasionally required to sit, climb, or balance; occasionally lift or move up to 25 pounds.
