Key Account Manager National Account Program
About the role
As a Director of Key Accounts at Kuehne+Nagel, you will play a critical role in driving growth, delivering value, and strengthening relationships within the evolving logistics market. You will act as a trusted advisor and advocate within Kuehne + Nagel, taking full ownership of key customer relationships.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary relationship owner for strategic customer accounts, acting as a trusted advisor and advocate within Kuehne + Nagel
- Develop and execute account strategies, including value propositions, RFQs, and tender responses in collaboration with internal teams
- Identify and drive new business opportunities to expand customer footprint, build a strong pipeline, and achieve high win rates
- Lead structured business reviews with customers, aligning on priorities and driving continuous improvement through new ideas and solutions
- Collaborate with global, regional, and national account teams to ensure consistent and effective customer representation
- Share best practices and contribute to global Key Account Management initiatives and sales efforts
- Maintain account performance, including volume, profitability, pipeline, and financial metrics, ensuring accurate reporting and timely action
- Oversee the successful transition of new business to operations, ensuring all customer requirements and service commitments are met
Requirements
- Proven experience managing key accounts within logistics, supply chain, or a related industry
- Strong strategic thinking and consultative selling skills
- Ability to build and maintain long-term customer relationships at senior levels
- Track record of driving revenue growth and delivering measurable business results
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills
- Strong analytical and performance management capabilities
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in sales, logistics, or supply chain management
- Experience working with cross-functional teams and stakeholders at senior levels
- Strong understanding of logistics principles and best practices
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
