Key Account Manager - Data Center

About the role
We are seeking a Key Account Manager – Data Center (Remote; based in Seattle, Portland, or San Francisco Bay area) to lead sales and execute business development activities within existing Hyperscale accounts, covering the full range of HARTING products and technologies. As a trusted advisor, you will position HARTING as the go-to expert for industrial connectivity solutions, partnering directly with Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) and Distribution partners for standard products, designed-in value-added products, and Product Development initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Map the network of manufacturing plants, design and decision-making centers, supply chain methods, subcontractors, contract manufacturers, and distributors associated with designated key accounts and new, developing markets.
- Evaluate overall connectivity potential and determine competitor share on an ongoing basis.
- Propose and execute, with management support, medium to long-term penetration plans to maximize HARTING’s market share and identify profitable new product development opportunities.
- Develop business relationships at the highest levels within key accounts and major subcontractors to strengthen company-to-company relationships and secure early access to future business.
- Coordinate all project activity with Market Development Management and Product Management to ensure efficient two-way information flow regarding product development, potential evaluation, and international coordination.
- Design HARTING products into the account’s equipment and automation lines by collaborating with customer engineering and supply chain personnel to gain approval for corporate specifications or individual project approval.
- Review customer plans and industry standards to develop cost-effective solutions using HARTING products.
- Analyze and propose changes in equipment, processes, or materials to reduce costs or improve operations.
- Provide technical training to client employees as needed.
- Prepare monthly reports on sales activity, forecast monthly sales, and develop annual forecasts and medium-term goals for planning purposes.
- Represent HARTING at tradeshows related to the account’s business.
- Maintain timely and reliable records of all account activity in CRM.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s of Science degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Electromechanical, Industrial Technology, or other technical degree).
- 5+ years of experience and/or training in technical solutions selling; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Prior knowledge and use of CRM and SAP preferred.
- Travel up to 30%.

Pay
- Competitive base salary: $135,000 - $175,000 (commensurate with experience and location).
- Eligible for a 20% discretionary annual bonus.
