About the role
Join Dogs for Better Lives (DBL), a nationally recognized nonprofit that trains assistance dogs to support people with disabilities and enhance lives.
Responsibilities
- Feed, groom, exercise, and care for dogs daily
- Administer medications and support basic health monitoring
- Maintain accurate medical and kennel records
- Clean and sanitize kennel, laundry, and common areas
- Coordinate veterinary appointments and transportation
- Support puppy development and enrichment activities
- Aid with tours, visitors, and volunteer engagement
- Ensure dogs receive the highest standard of care
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Passion for animal welfare and DBL's mission
- Comfortable lifting up to 65 lbs and working in an active environment
- Ability to handle medications, medical procedures, and animal care tasks
- Strong communication, organization, and teamwork skills
- Valid driver's license and able to pass background and DMV checks
