Kennel Attendant

What You'll Do (Job Responsibilities)

• Oversee the daily operations of the boarding department.
• Train, mentor, coach, and schedule the boarding staff and Animal Care Attendants to ensure consistent, high-quality care.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and highly organized boarding environment.
• Monitor inventory of pet care, cleaning, and feeding supplies, and coordinate ordering as needed.
• Communicate professionally with clients regarding boarding reservations, special needs, medication instructions, and general updates.
• Act as a key liaison between the boarding team and our veterinary doctors/technicians to seamlessly coordinate care for medical boarders and hospitalized pets.
• Aid the team with daily husbandry duties, including:
• Cleaning and disinfecting cages, runs, and common hospital areas.
• Feeding, watering, and monitoring the health and behavior of dogs and cats.
• Walking and exercising dogs.
• Bathing pets and doing laundry.
• Assisting Doctors and Technicians with safe patient handling when necessary.

What We're Looking For (Skills & Qualifications)

• Prior experience in animal care (boarding, kennel, dog daycare, or veterinary hospital) is required.
• Leadership, supervisory, or team lead experience is strongly preferred.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by the needs of the business.
• Ability to stand, walk, and be on your feet for extended periods, and safely lift up to 40 pounds.
