About the role
Hickory Small Animal Hospital is seeking a part-time Kennel Attendant to join their dedicated team.
Responsibilities
- Feeding, medicating, and walking our furry guests (dogs and cats).
- Offering boarding guests emotional support and love while their owners are out of town.
- Maintaining clean and sanitized conditions to ensure guests' health and comfort.
- Giving baths and doing nail trims.
- Keeping accurate electronic records detailing guests' eating habits, eliminations, appetite, and behavior changes.
Requirements
- Experience working as a kennel technician.
- Experience handling or caring for dogs and cats in a professional or volunteer setting.
- Ability to administer oral and topical medications to animals.
- Comfortable handling animals of all sizes and temperaments.
- Strong attention to detail for monitoring animal health and maintaining accurate electronic records.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including walking dogs frequently and standing for long periods.
- Willingness to assist with cleaning and sanitation duties.
- Team-oriented mindset with the ability to collaborate across different departments (boarding, salon, veterinary).
- Basic computer skills for electronic record-keeping.
