Kennel Attendant

About the role

This position is a key role for our boarding facility, providing daily care for boarded pets and assisting with kennel and facility maintenance. The role involves interacting with the clinical team, clients, and owners to support a customer- and pet-focused environment.

Responsibilities

• Daily care for boarded animals, including bathing, grooming, exercising, feeding, administering medication, and monitoring behavior
• Perform toe nail trims and express anal glands
• Assist with kennel and facility maintenance and cleaning
• Report changes in animal behavior, health, or concerns to the Vet or Hospital Manager
• Maintain animal records, such as weight, physical condition, treatments received, medications given, food intake, and other relevant data
• Wash, dry, and fold laundry
• Lift 50 lbs or more, stoop, bend, and stand for long periods
• Communicate with clients to provide updates and details about their pets
• Other duties as assigned by the Doctor, Hospital Manager, or Kennel Manager

Requirements

• High School Diploma or relevant education and work experience
• Previous experience with animals preferred
• Customer service attitude
• Organizational skills
• Team-oriented and enjoys working as part of a team
• Solid communication skills
• Self-motivated
