Kennel Attendant

Companion Animal Clinic in Topeka, KS is looking for a Part-Time Kennel Attendant to support our boarding facility. Open availability is required, including weekends and holidays.

About the role

The Kennel Attendant is a key role for our kennel, providing daily care for our boarded animals and assisting with kennel maintenance. The position involves interacting with the clinical team, clients, and supporting our customer-focused environment.

Responsibilities

• Daily care for boarded animals
• Bathing, grooming, exercising, feeding, administering medication, and monitoring behavior
• Assist with kennel maintenance and cleaning
• Report changes in animal behavior, health, or concerns to Vet or Hospital Manager
• Maintain animal records, such as weight, physical condition, treatments received, medications given, food intake, and other relevant data
• Other duties as assigned by Doctor/Hospital Manager/Kennel Manager
• Washing, drying, and folding laundry
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs or more, stoop, bend, and stand on feet for long periods
• Must have open availability, including weekends and holidays

Requirements

• High School Diploma or relevant education and work experience
• Previous experience with animals preferred
• Customer service attitude
• Organizational skills
• Team-oriented, enjoys working as part of a team
• Solid communication skills
