Kennel Attendant

About the role

Crain Veterinary Center is a small animal practice in Grain Valley, Missouri offering full-service veterinary care, boarding, and daycare. The Kennel Attendant provides daily care for hospitalized and boarded animals and assists with kennel maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Daily care for all animals in our care
• Bathing, grooming, exercising, feeding, and administering medication
• Monitoring animal behavior and reporting changes to the Vet or Hospital Manager
• Maintaining animal records (weight, physical condition, treatments, medications, food intake, etc.)
• Assisting with kennel maintenance and cleaning
• Washing, drying, and folding laundry
• Other duties as assigned by the Doctor, Hospital Manager, or Kennel Manager
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs or more, stoop, bend, and stand for long periods

Requirements

• High School Diploma or relevant education and work experience
• Previous experience with animals preferred
• Customer service attitude
• Organizational skills
• Team-oriented and enjoys working as part of a team
• Solid communication skills
• Must be available to work weekends and holidays
