Kennel Assistant

Peoria Area Veterinary Group (PAVG) is seeking a Full-Time Kennel Assistant to join our team of dedicated veterinary professionals at our Dunlap, IL location. Kennel Assistants are valuable members of our team and play a crucial role in patient care. The successful candidate will be a self-motivated individual with the ability to multi-task and is willing to learn new skills.

Responsibilities

• Animal handling and restraint
• Walk animals that may need support/assistance
• Knowledge of basic husbandry, feeding, and nutrition
• Administer medication to patients
• Maintain cleanliness of boarding area and clinic
• Restock and organize kennel supplies
• Bathe and groom animals
• Continue to advance knowledge base and skill set

Qualifications

• Professional experience in a veterinary clinical setting (CSR, kennel attendant, vet assistant, or other), preferred
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to problem solve
• Ability to handle stressful situations and prioritize tasks effectively
• Team player with patience and a positive attitude
• Must be able to lift and restrain pets of at least 40 pounds
