Kennel Assistant

About the role

Vista Vet Animal Hospital & Pet Lodge is seeking a Kennel Assistant to join their team. This is a Full-Time position with flexible scheduling options, requiring availability Monday through Friday and rotating weekends.

Responsibilities

• Provide attentive care to boarding dogs and cats
• Feed, walk, and monitor pets for health and behavior changes
• Clean kennels and hospital areas as needed
• Aid the front desk by answering incoming calls
• Check boarding clients in and out

Requirements

• 1+ years of experience as a veterinary kennel assistant / kennel technician preferred
• Will consider related experience within animal care such as boarding / doggy daycare attendant, FFA or 4H background
• Punctual and reliable
• Desire for knowledge & growth in the veterinary field
• Willing to work holidays and weekends
• Excellent communication & customer service skills

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid driver’s license
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds

Pay

Compensation: $13-$15 per hour, for each hour worked*
