TRANSFER is a data co-op for contemporary art TRANSFER started as a brick and mortar digital art gallery, founded in Brooklyn, NY in 2013. Our exhibitions bridge physical and virtual space, with a focus on artists refiguring technology through critical practice. TRANSFER Artists are 𝓮𝔁𝓽𝓻𝓮𝓶𝓮𝓵𝔂 𝓸𝓷𝓵𝓲𝓷𝓮 🌐 their work includes immersive installations, interactive art, video games, virtual worlds, and expanded media art. After a decade operating as a traditional gallery, we restructured to form a data co-operative focused on conservation and distributive justice in contemporary art. Our ongoing programming includes pop-up and virtual exhibitions, traveling curatorial frameworks, online social interventions, and cultural infrastructure development.
