Position Summary
The Spout Attendant reports to the Production Supervisor and is responsible for monitoring and completing tasks in the Milling area, including proper handling, filling, and labeling of product.
Responsibilities
- Maintain clear and accurate documentation and effective communication with Mill Leads and coworkers to ensure a quality and safe product is continuously produced.
- Ensure all tools and equipment are properly tethered and in designated areas during and at the end of each shift.
- Report any safety or equipment issues to the Lead or Supervisor.
- Filling products into drums to correct fill weight and ensure product seal integrity to prevent spoilage or product degradation.
- Inspect drums for cleanliness, foreign material, and defects prior to filling.
- Verify that all product is properly labeled and all documentation is accurately filled out.
- Participate in employee-related trainings and comply with all Good Manufacturing Practices and Safety regulations.
- Perform housekeeping duties such as regular sweeping, discarding of waste, and maintaining work area.
- Assist others as needed or as instructed by the Lead or Supervisor.
- Wear appropriate personal protective equipment at all times while working in designated areas.
Requirements
- Capable of lifting 50 lbs. consistently throughout a shift.
- Capable of safely maneuvering drums that weigh up to 250 lbs.
- Able to stand on feet for extended periods of time.
- Ability to effectively communicate with co-workers and department Leads.
- Ability to work overtime as required.
- Understand and follow all Good Manufacturing Practices and Safety regulations.
- Able to work in a dusty, fast-paced, and noisy production environment.
- Able to ascend and descend stairs.
- Ability to take direction from the department leads and work in a team-driven atmosphere.
- Understand and follow all Good Manufacturing Practices and Safety regulations.
- Able to wear and use all assigned personal protective equipment (hard hat, gloves, eye protection, ear plugs, and steel toe footwear/nonslip).
