Responsibilities
- Handle interpreting sessions promptly and professionally
- Render accurate and clear interpretations between Kanjobal and English speakers
- Adapt to various industries including healthcare, insurance, finance, and law
- Ensure confidentiality and respect cultural sensitivities
- Work flexible hours to fit the needs of clients
Requirements
- Fluency in Kanjobal and English
- Cultural competency and understanding of regional accents
- Excellent listening and note-taking skills
- Ability to remain calm and professional under stress
- At least 18 years old
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S.
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to read and write English and Kanjobal
Qualifications
- Education or work experience in language-related fields preferred
- Must be able to adapt to LLS technology enhancements
- Must have access to a quiet workspace
- Must be able to operate a computer and other necessary equipment
Skills
Strong communication skills, cultural awareness, and the ability to handle sensitive topics are essential.
