Primary Responsibilities
- Create an inclusive, positive, and safe environment where students enjoy learning and socializing
- Facilitate daily enrichment activities and encourage student voice and collaboration
- Support students in developing essential life skills, such as communication, problem-solving, and empathy
- Understand each student’s academic program, strengths, and needs
- Provide on-demand academic help and executive functioning support
- Set and track academic goals with students and families
- Use tools like Newton to document progress and maintain transparency
- Serve as the primary point of contact for families
- Share weekly updates and insights into each student’s progress and experience
- Build trust and community through clear communication, empathy, and responsiveness
- Represent KaiPod in your community and grow your local network
- Occasionally attend local events to build partnerships and increase pod visibility
- Capture and share the magic happening in your pod with families and the broader KaiPod team
Who You Are
- An Outstanding Learning Coach
- Deeply knows and motivates students
- Familiar with academic standards and core content areas (ELA, math, science, social studies)
- Skilled in supporting executive functioning and neurodiverse learners
- Tech-savvy and comfortable navigating multiple online platforms
- Experience teaching 3rd–6th grade or leading small group instruction preferred
- A Natural Culture Builder
- Creates environments where kids feel safe, connected, and excited to learn
- Plans and delivers engaging enrichment activities tailored to student interests
- Communicates proactively and professionally with families
- Organized and detail-oriented with a strong sense of initiative
- A Local Leader and Connector
- Connected (or eager to connect) to your local homeschool or parent community
- Willing to share about KaiPod and represent your pod at community events
- Passionate about building strong relationships with families and students
- A Strong Team Member
- Open to feedback and committed to personal growth
- Proactive, solution-oriented, and flexible in a dynamic startup environment
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- At least 4 years of teaching experience
- Experience working with students with neurodiversities
- Other experience working with young people (e.g., coaching) is also prioritized
Compensation
Compensation commensurate with experience.
