About the Role
Supervises, assigns, coordinates, and evaluates semi-skilled and skilled trades personnel according to their skill, experience, and job knowledge. Supervises and trains employees to improve quality and quantity of work performed. Recommends training to enhance skill and productivity of employees and assists in the development of training procedures. Breaks broad strategies down to practical action plans and ensures employees are trained to perform these plans.
Responsible for complying with all technical aspects of the job, including adherence to all drawings and procedures. Responsible for manufacturing, installation, operation, testing, and process operations that have a significant financial impact on the company's performance. Supervises qualified trades staff, monitoring job and budget performance for all shifts.
Newport News Shipbuilding, a division of Huntington Ingalls Industries, is offering a $5,000 sign-on bonus to Foreman new hires. Job seekers who apply on qualifying requisitions are eligible for the sign-on bonus. Current Newport News Shipbuilding employees are also eligible.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree
- Apprentice Certification
- High School Diploma and 4 years combined manufacturing, shipbuilding, trades, or military experience
- Associate Degree in a Trade/Technical field and 3 years of relevant manufacturing, shipbuilding, trade, and/or military experience
Nice to Have
- Pipe welding experience
- Makeup Foreman experience

Pay
The anticipated salary range for this role is $92,000.00 to $117,000.00. Final compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and other job-related factors.
