About the Role
Supervises, assigns, coordinates, and evaluates semi-skilled and skilled trades personnel based on their skill, experience, and job knowledge. Oversees and trains employees to improve the quality and quantity of work performed. Recommends training to enhance skills and productivity, and assists in developing training procedures. Translates broad strategies into practical action plans and ensures employees are trained to execute them.
Responsible for complying with all technical aspects of the job, including adherence to drawings and procedures. Oversees manufacturing, installation, operation, testing, and process operations that have a significant financial impact on the company’s performance. Supervises qualified trades staff and monitors job and budget performance across all shifts.
Newport News Shipbuilding is offering a $5,000 sign-on bonus to new Foreman hires, including current employees. Eligibility applies to those who apply on qualifying requisitions.
Responsibilities

Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree OR
- Apprentice Certification OR
- High School Diploma and 4 years of combined manufacturing, shipbuilding, trades, or military experience OR
- Associate Degree in a Trade/Technical field and 3 years of relevant manufacturing, shipbuilding, trade, and/or military experience.

Pay
The anticipated salary range for this role is $92,000 to $117,000. Final compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and other job-related factors.
