About the role

Portland State University’s Maseeh College of Engineering and Computer Science seeks a dynamic, organized, and collaborative K14 Workforce Program Manager to coordinate pre-college preparation initiatives and develop K-14 partnerships aligned with the college’s strategic workforce areas. This grant-funded position serves as Oregon’s higher education partner in the NNME-funded PINES network and supports a $1 million grant to expand semiconductor career pathways across the state. Reporting to the Assistant Dean for Inclusive Innovation, the role acts as the operational backbone for semiconductor and microelectronics grant portfolios, with potential for continuation beyond the current funding period.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate pre-college preparation initiatives and develop K-14 partnerships aligned with strategic workforce areas.
  • Serve as Oregon’s higher education partner in the NNME-funded PINES network and support a $1 million grant to expand semiconductor career pathways.
  • Act as a bridge between Maseeh College, K-12, and community college partners to drive dual-credit curriculum alignment and manage formal articulation agreements.
  • Serve as a primary district liaison with deep insight into CTE pathways and school operations.
  • Coordinate workforce initiatives with regional STEM hubs and nonprofit partners to promote high-demand semiconductor and engineering careers.
  • Provide end-to-end grant project management, fiscal tracking, and administrative support.
  • Oversee teacher professional development, high school summer camps, and college internships.
  • Maintain transparent communication across education and community stakeholders through strategic marketing, website maintenance, and media content collection.

Requirements

  • Seasoned knowledge and expertise in the designated field, typically obtained through a Bachelor’s degree and 4 to 6 years of professional experience or a Master’s degree with 2+ years of experience.
  • Ability to plan steps for and carry out multiphase projects and modify techniques to solve a wide range of problems.
  • Strong commitment to equity and inclusion.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience in STEM outreach and/or pedagogy.
  • Experience with project management.
  • Experience with the K12 STEM ecosystem in Oregon.
  • Experience with data analysis.

Pay

The starting annual salary for this position will be between $66,696 – $77,000 but may be negotiated above this rate dependent upon years of related experience, applicable skills, knowledge and abilities, market parity, internal equity, the budget of the hiring department, and approval from HR.
