Position Overview
The JV Girls' Volleyball Coach supports the success of the Volleyball program at Breck School. This role works closely with the Girls' Volleyball Head Coach to manage the day-to-day operations of the JV program and prepare student-athletes for success at the varsity level.
Responsibilities
- Reinforce the tone and culture of the team – model teamwork, trust, inclusivity, respect and leadership; encourage sportsmanlike conduct at all times.
- Manage and supervise practices and athletic events.
- Work with student athletes to improve their abilities in Girls' Volleyball.
- Partner with coaching staff to provide unity across all levels and teams.
- Work with the Strength and Conditioning Coach to provide a year-round support.
- Encourage and support multi-sport athletes within Breck.
- Participate in special activities, such as parent meetings, senior night, banquets, etc.
- Attend meetings and events to improve coaching performance, such as professional development meetings, clinics, etc.
Qualifications
- Prior playing or coaching experience in Girls' Volleyball.
- Understanding of Volleyball fundamentals and effective coaching techniques and skills, including rules, regulations, strategies, and techniques of Girls' Volleyball.
- Experience building and maintaining effective working relationships with school administrators, governing organizations (MSHSL, etc.), opponents, staff, parents, and athletes.
- Exhibits professionalism, organizational, communication, delegation, and interpersonal skills.
