About the role
We are seeking a skilled individual to join our team as a Grade 1 Production Support, contributing to the creation of our premium headwear. You will play a crucial role in ensuring efficient and high-quality production by operating and maintaining equipment such as measuring tools, heat sealers, embroidery and sewing tools, and sewing machines.
Responsibilities
- Follow all safety protocols and perform routine housekeeping tasks and safety checks.
- Interpret work orders, ensuring product completion reflects artwork with the highest standard of accuracy and quality.
- Use proper tools/supplies for each task to maintain safe working conditions and product quality.
- Report items that need replacement.
- Contribute to quality control by inspecting materials and finished products; interpret SOPs and only pass good product.
- Determine what product can be reworked/corrected and what must be scrapped.
- Document and communicate quality control issues in the system.
- Identify appropriate cut patterns and/or hangtags for product (JUNK) and correct patch/hat SKU (OC).
- Organize work orders into appropriate containers by thread color for proper workflow (JUNK).
- Prepare and organize production, confirming all order requirements are met.
- Inspect and prepare all finished product for shipping (QC, trim, package).
- Demonstrate competencies for various machinery/techniques for next-level advancement.
- Prepare materials and fabrics for the sewing process (JUNK).
- Assist sewers and machine operators with their tasks.
- Understand and communicate PASS vs. FAIL caps (e.g., loose threads, crooked art, bad caps).
- Read POs to match art, cap style, special instructions, and packing instructions.
- Adhere to safety protocols for assigned equipment and all production areas (e.g., turning off heat guns at break).
- Perform other responsibilities that may be assigned.
Requirements

- Apply common sense to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions.
- Learn quickly, adapt to change, work at a fast pace, maintain a positive attitude, and manage multiple deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Reliable attendance with availability for overtime as needed.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree preferred but not mandatory.
- Embroidery, sewing, and/or digitizing experience desired but not mandatory.
- Basic computer knowledge helpful; experience with in-house programs (e.g., Exenta, Quickturn, NetSuite, Shopify).
Skills & Progression
As a Grade 1 Production Support, you can increase earning potential by advancing through the following steps:
- Step 1 (Entry Level): Hangtag / Barcode
- Step 2 (Entry Level): Cutter, proficient at Intermediate level Hangtag / Barcode
- Step 3 (Advanced): Hangtag / Barcode + Advanced Cutter + Cross-trained to Step 2 for OC
Advancement to Grade 2 Machine Operator is also possible with demonstrated competencies.
Physical Requirements
- Stand, sit, and/or walk for 90% of the day; occasionally reach, bend, and move inside the facility.
- Fine motor skills required for using wrists, hands, and fingers.
- Close visual acuity, color vision, and depth perception.
- Able to hear and effectively communicate with peers.
- Ability to lift/move/pull 10-50 lbs. occasionally throughout the day.
- Moderate noise due to sewing machine operation in a warehouse setting.
- Some assignments may be in a building with limited climate control (extreme temperatures).
