Junior System Engineer

Skill Requirements

• Must have 2, or more, years of general (full-time) work experience
• Must have 6 months, or more, of directly related experience in systems engineering related to satellite ground systems or IT systems.
• Must have a fundamental understanding of Requirements Analysis and Management principles.
• Must have an understanding of the System Engineering V-Model and engineering lifecycle.
• Must have a demonstrated ability to work independently, take initiative, and drive projects to completion with minimal supervision.
• Must have an active DoD Secret Security Clearance.

Education and Experience

• Must have a Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in a related field (e.g., Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering).
• Must have an active DoD Top Secret Clearance with SCI eligibility.
• Must have experience working within the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) or other Department of Defense (DoD) organizations.
• Must have Space operations experience.
• Must have competency in developing and editing Department of Defense Architecture Framework (DoDAF) (or equivalent framework).
• Must have experience working with SysML and MBSE tools such as Cameo Systems Modeler (No Magic), IBM Rhapsody, or Sparx Enterprise Architect.
• Must have certifications in relevant areas (e.g., INCOSE ASEP, CompTIA Security+).

Desired Requirements

• Have experience working within the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) or other Department of Defense (DoD) organizations.
• Have Space operations experience.
• Have competency in developing and editing Department of Defense Architecture Framework (DoDAF) (or equivalent framework).
• Be able to logically decompose complex mission systems into manageable components.
• Have experience in developing detailed implementation plans for new solutions and systems.
• Have a track record of effectively troubleshooting and applying critical thinking skills to resolve IT system dependencies, impacts, and sustainability challenges.
• Be familiar with Agile development methodologies.
• Be familiar with cloud computing (server and serverless) technologies (e.g., Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, Red Hat Openshift).
• Have experience working with SysML and MBSE tools such as Cameo Systems Modeler (No Magic), IBM Rhapsody, or Sparx Enterprise Architect.
• Have certifications in relevant areas (e.g., INCOSE ASEP, CompTIA Security+).

Salary Range

This position is expected to pay $33.65/hr – $43.26/hr; depending on experience, education, and any certifications that are directly related to the position.
