Junior Software Developer

About the role

Two Six Technologies is seeking Software Developers with experience in web and desktop software, particularly those with knowledge of cloud development, to support a large, high-visibility enterprise classification application.

As a member of our team, you will join a dedicated group of engineers providing troubleshooting and operations support, with a focus on security, containerization, and automation. You will dive deep into technical issues to improve the customer experience, delivering highly secure cloud-based offerings through applications, services, and consulting. Responsibilities include creating new environments, services, and offerings, coordinating with outside groups, and addressing architecture, security design, and implementation defects.

Responsibilities

• Provide troubleshooting and operations support for enterprise applications
• Focus on security, containerization, and automation
• Improve customer experience through secure cloud-based offerings
• Develop new environments, services, and offerings
• Coordinate with external groups on architecture and security design
• Identify and resolve defects in highly available implementations

Requirements

• 1-2 years of professional software development experience
• Proficiency with Go programming language (or other modern languages)
• Understanding of RESTful API design and development
• Strong knowledge of Git version control (branching, merging, pull requests)
• Experience working in collaborative team environments
• Familiarity with microservices architecture concepts
• Basic understanding of containerization (Docker)
• Knowledge of software testing principles and practices
• Strong problem-solving and debugging skills
• Excellent communication skills and willingness to learn

Nice to Haves

• Exposure to Angular or other modern frontend frameworks
• Experience with Kubernetes or container orchestration platforms
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and GitLab workflows
• Knowledge of Helm charts or infrastructure-as-code tools
• Experience with API gateways (Traefik or similar)
• Exposure to distributed systems concepts
• Familiarity with VS Code or modern development environments

Security Clearance

Active TS/SCI clearance required. TS/SCI with Poly preferred.

Pay

Salary range: $84,000 - $151,400 USD (annual). The specific salary offered is determined by factors including education, experience, knowledge, skills, geographic location, and contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements.
