About the role
The Junior Operations Research Analyst supports a federal client by conducting research, data analysis, and the development of analytic products that inform operational decision-making. This position works with open-source, publicly available, commercially available, spatial, and temporal data to identify patterns, relationships, and relevant insights across complex problem sets.
Responsibilities
- Conduct research and analyze diverse information sources to develop timely products that support operational planning, mission execution, and client decision-making.
- Apply quantitative, qualitative, and geospatial analytical techniques to identify patterns, relationships, emerging trends, and information gaps across complex datasets.
- Integrate publicly available, commercial, client-provided, and multidisciplinary information into clear, defensible assessments and recommendations.
- Support the development of visualizations, maps, briefings, reports, and other deliverables that communicate analytic findings to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Assist in evaluating network relationships, activities, and operational indicators through structured research, data fusion, and analytical methodologies.
- Collaborate with team members and client stakeholders to refine requirements, improve data-driven insights, and enhance the effectiveness of mission-support products.
- Develop tailored analytical solutions and research approaches that address client priorities, project objectives, and emerging operational needs.
Qualifications
- Four years of relevant practical experience, comparable education, or a combination of education and experience.
- Must currently possess an active Top Secret security clearance and be eligible for access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI).
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment while researching multifaceted problem sets in a dynamic setting.
- Ability to work independently in research, data fusion, and analysis of multidisciplinary datasets.
- Experience with advanced interdisciplinary research concepts.
- Proficiency in large-data manipulation, including collection, synthesis, and visualization of content for complex deliverables in multiple formats.
- Strong critical-thinking, analytical, and technical skills with the ability to communicate findings through written products, graphics, briefings, or other client-directed formats.
- Proficiency in geospatial analysis, including advanced analytic functions and creation of publishable cartographic products.
Preferred Qualifications
- Computer science experience with emphasis on statistical analysis, automation, and data mining.
- Experience with cyber analytics.
- Experience in conducting all-source analysis within criminal analysis and/or intelligence analysis.
