About the role

Brooklyn Grange is a leading urban landscape design, installation, and maintenance firm. This hybrid role combines design and project management responsibilities, focusing on the full lifecycle of projects from concept development through construction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design Support

    • Assist in developing landscape designs, planting plans, and material palettes
    • Produce drawings, renderings, submittals, and presentation materials using AutoCAD, SketchUp, and Adobe Suite
    • Support site analysis
    • Contribute to design development for rooftops, terraces, streetscapes, and amenity spaces
  • Project Management

    • Support project managers in coordinating active jobs from pre-construction through installation
    • Help manage timelines, budgets, and procurement of materials
    • Cook up with internal crews, subcontractors, and external consultants (architects, engineers, developers)
    • Track project progress, document changes, and maintain organized records
    • Develop project estimates and budgets
  • Field & Construction Involvement

    • Participate in site visits, measurements, and inspections
    • Aid in construction oversight and quality control
    • Help troubleshoot design and installation challenges in real time
    • Ensure adherence to design intent and company standards
  • Client & Team Communication

    • Prepare client-facing materials and presentations
    • Participate in meetings and take detailed notes / follow-ups
    • Collaborate closely with design, operations, and maintenance teams

Qualifications

  • Education

    • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Landscape Architecture or related field
  • Experience

    • 0–3 years of relevant experience (internships included)
  • Skills

    • Strong design sensibility with attention to detail
    • Proficiency in AutoCAD required; familiarity with Rhino, SketchUp, and Adobe Creative Suite preferred
  • Interests

    • Interest in urban ecology, green infrastructure, and sustainable design
  • Personal Attributes

    • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
    • Strong communication skills and willingness to engage both in-office and in the field
