About the Role

As an English Language Arts Teacher, you will change lives through education by developing skilled readers and writers, critical listeners, and accomplished speakers. In this role, you will also focus on physical education, helping students build capabilities in five essential core fitness components: muscular strength, muscular endurance, flexibility, cardiovascular strength, and body composition. You will emphasize sportsmanship and the importance of staying active.

Responsibilities

  • Implement instructional activities that engage students in meaningful learning experiences.
  • Identify, select, and modify instructional resources to meet diverse student needs, backgrounds, and learning styles.
  • Utilize direct instruction techniques to guide students through activities that promote social, physical, and intellectual growth.
  • Assist in assessing curricular needs and offer plans for improvement.
  • Maintain effective and efficient record-keeping procedures.
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and professionals both orally and in writing.
  • Collaborate with peers to enhance the instructional environment.
  • Model professional and ethical standards in all interactions.
  • Ensure continuous and appropriate student growth and achievement for age group and subject area.
  • Participate in training sessions and staff meetings.
  • Meet professional obligations, including deadlines and scheduling.
  • Evaluate student learning capabilities and celebrate their accomplishments.
  • Encourage students to uphold school values and model mature behavior and good character.
  • Engage in light lifting, sitting, standing, and moving throughout the campus as required.
  • Participate in events outside of normal hours.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Valid SEI Endorsement/Certification or ability to obtain.
  • Pass a criminal history background check.

Preferred Qualifications

  • A current teaching certificate from the state where the position is located.

Physical and Travel Requirements

  • Travel between campuses is required occasionally.
  • Ability to lift objects up to 25 pounds on occasion.
  • May require sitting for long periods, talking on the phone, standing, kneeling, stooping, and maintaining concentration for extended periods.
  • Local and in-state travel required.
