About the role
The SEED is an award-winning women-owned design studio based in New York City, working with the medium of light across architectural lighting, experiential environments, research, and product design. Located in the heart of SoHo, our work spans commercial, residential, hospitality, cultural, and light art projects internationally, with a focus on atmosphere, materiality, sustainability, and storytelling through design.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to the development of innovative lighting solutions for various projects
- Collaborate with architects, interior designers, and other team members to ensure cohesive design
- Create detailed drawings and models using AutoCAD, Revit, BIM360, and Adobe Creative Suite
- Use Rhino and AGI32 for advanced design and simulation
- Present design concepts effectively to clients, project teams, and stakeholders
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring deadlines are met
- Stay updated with industry trends and technologies in lighting design
Requirements
- Degree in Lighting Design, Architecture, Interior Design, or related design field
- 1–2 years of experience at a lighting design or architecture firm is a plus, but not required
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, BIM360, and Adobe Creative Suite
- Experience with Rhino and AGI32 is a bonus
- Strong graphic design and presentation skills
- Excellent communication and storytelling abilities
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to communicate professionally with project teams, clients, vendors, and contractors
- Fluent English speaker
