Junior Design Engineer, Americas

About the role

This role combines excellence in both design and technical implementation of features. You'll work on challenging design problems, help others improve their designs, and consult on bespoke design work needed by product engineers.

Responsibilities

• Redesign our mobile web app by talking with customers and implementing the design system.
• Built a set of flexible, composable components in our design system.
• Helped a Product Engineer improve the information hierarchy and scannability of their design.

Requirements

To succeed in this role, you should have:

• No more than 2 years of industry experience as a designer or engineer.
• Experience designing products and shipping code to hundreds of users.
• Excellent proficiency in both design and engineering.

Qualifications

Qualifications include:

• Strong visual taste and ability to execute designs.
• Experience working on design systems.
• Ability to gather and incorporate user feedback.
• Comfort with rapid iteration and MVPs.

Skills

Key skills required are:

• Proficiency in design tools such as Figma, Sketch, etc.
• Experience with front-end technologies like React, Vue, or Angular.
• Understanding of data models and their impact on design.
• Good understanding of user interface and user experience principles.
