Junior Data Analyst

Ignite Digital is seeking a mission‑driven Data Analyst to support a US Navy data analytics, cloud management, and IT modernization program in the Norfolk, VA area.
Responsibilities
The Data Analyst will be responsible for collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data to identify trends, patterns, and insights that enhance operational performance and inform key business and mission decisions.
- Collect, cleanse, and validate data from diverse structured and unstructured sources.
- Analyze data using statistical techniques, data mining tools, and exploratory methods.
- Develop and maintain databases, data systems, and data pipelines as needed.
- Design and produce reports, dashboards, and visualizations to communicate findings.
- Identify trends, patterns, and anomalies; deliver actionable insights to stakeholders.
- Partner closely with Navy program stakeholders to assess data needs and create tailored analytical solutions.
- Document data processes, workflows, and procedures for sustainability and compliance.
- Ensure data quality, accuracy, consistency, and proper metadata management.
- Present analysis and conclusions to technical teams, program leadership, and non‑technical audiences in a clear, concise manner.
Requirements
- 2+ years of experience in data analytics, data management, or statistical analysis.
- Strong analytical reasoning and problem‑solving skills.
- Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
- Proficiency with SQL, Excel, and modern data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau).
- Experience in statistical analysis (basic to intermediate) and data mining techniques.
- Hands‑on experience with data cleansing, wrangling, profiling tools, and data quality management.
- Familiarity with metadata management, data modeling concepts, data dictionaries, and data catalogs.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Economics, or another related field.
Skills
Proficiency with SQL, Excel, and modern data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau), as well as experience in statistical analysis and data mining techniques.

Pay
Salary: $80k+ to align with education and experience.
Schedule
Active DoW SECRET security clearance required. Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
