The salary for this position is $55,000 - $70,000 per year, depending on experience, and it is a full-time, on-site role located in York, PA.

Steeped in a tradition of hydropower, American Hydro is a leading supplier and installer of large equipment for the hydroelectric industry. We specialize in design, engineering, precision CNC manufacturing, upgrades, and servicing of high-performance hydro turbines and large pumps.

Responsibilities

The Procurement Analyst is a strategic procurement professional responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and managing the supply of materials, components, and services required in a heavy fabrication manufacturing environment.

  • Develop and execute sourcing strategies for raw materials, fabricated components, capital equipment, and specialized services used in heavy manufacturing.
  • Identify, evaluate, and qualify domestic and international suppliers to ensure capability, capacity, and compliance with technical and quality standards.
  • Lead supplier negotiations focused on cost reduction, long-term agreements, risk mitigation, and performance improvement.
  • Monitor supplier performance using key performance indicators (KPIs), including on-time delivery, quality, and cost competitiveness.
  • Drive supplier development initiatives to strengthen supply chain resilience and reduce total cost of ownership.
  • Monitor purchasing demand requirements and reporting through the ERP system.
  • Expedite and follow up on purchase orders as needed and update records when delivery dates change.
  • Negotiate blanket purchase orders with suppliers for frequently used materials.
  • Support logistics and customs activities.
  • Utilize data analytics and reporting tools, including Power BI, to support organizational decision-making.
  • Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 quality standards as they relate to purchasing functions.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills, strong organizational skills and attention to detail, and strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

  • Basic understanding of manufacturing processes, blueprint reading, and quality assurance procedures.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Power BI.
  • Experience using ERP systems to support purchasing activities (Epicor preferred).

Requirements

An Associate's degree or Bachelor's degree is preferred, or one to two years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Experience in a job shop or engineer-to-order manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Heavy manufacturing experience preferred.
