About the Role
CAMBA is seeking a Junior Budget Analyst to join our team at the T Building, a residential building in Jamaica, Queens. The Junior Budget Analyst will work under the supervision of the Assistant Program Director to maintain professional relationships with clients, ensure client confidentiality, and comply with security and privacy policies. The role involves analyzing accounting records, preparing budget modifications, and providing technical assistance in budget preparation.
Responsibilities
- Maintain professional relationships with clients and ensure client confidentiality.
- Practice Universal Precautions/Standard Protocol & Procedures.
- Comply with Federal, State, City, and CAMBA security and privacy policies.
- Analyze accounting records to determine financial resources required for budget modifications.
- Examine budget estimates, proposals, and expense reports for completeness, accuracy, and conformance with procedures.
- Provide advice and technical assistance in preparing annual budgets, modifications, and amendments.
- Serve as a liaison to management staff, informing them of reclassifications or discrepancies.
- Analyze past and current operating budgets to identify trends affecting budget needs.
- Research economic and financial developments impacting the organization’s spending.
- Review variance sheets to assist management in maximizing accrual use.
- Review submitted expense reports for accuracy.
- Prepare program expense analyses for program staff and senior management.
- Monitor contracts and analyze expenses to support program managers’ objectives.
- Prepare budgets and modifications to meet mid-year and close-out cycle deadlines.
- Schedule and facilitate management staff meetings to assess financial status.
- Attend staff, funder, and outside agency meetings as requested.
- Review and maintain budget accuracy in MIP for assigned programs.
- Manage a portfolio of two to six programs under strict supervision.
Qualifications
- Associate degree and current enrollment in a BA program in Accounting/Finance, with a commitment to completing the degree.
- Minimum applicable experience and/or equivalent experience.
Requirements

- Avoid personal conflicts of interest.
- Experience working with a non-profit preferred.

Compensation: $57,500 annually
Status: Full-time (35 hours per week)
