About the role

The Junior/Assistant Specialist will enable research as part of a team and, depending on experience level, may also conduct some independent research projects. The Spatial Neuroscience Lab uses dynamic and interdisciplinary research methods to answer questions about how the brain processes information to keep us oriented as we navigate through a complicated world. Our primary techniques are fully immersive virtual reality (VR) and human brain imaging using functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI).

Responsibilities

  • Supports project management
  • Conducts human subject research in immersive virtual environments
  • Data collection and processing for both behavioral and neuroimaging data
  • Data analysis
  • Lab Manager responsibilities include training and supervising undergraduate research assistants, tracking study progress, and some administrative duties (e.g. IRB protocol management and overseeing lab operations)
  • Additional responsibilities will be assigned based on the successful candidate's skills and interests

Requirements

  • Completed or currently enrolled in a BA or BS program in psychology, neuroscience or a related field

Qualifications

  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively
  • Experience with data collection and analysis tools
  • Basic understanding of VR and fMRI techniques
  • Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills

Skills

  • Proficiency in data management software
  • Knowledge of statistical analysis software
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Attention to detail and ability to handle sensitive data

Benefits

Two-year commitment is strongly preferred.

Pay

Salary range: $45,000 - $55,000 per year

Schedule

Full-time, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM
