Junior AI Engineer - Sheffield

About the role

As a Junior AI Engineer, you will support the design, development and deployment of AI-driven solutions that address real-world client challenges. Working closely with senior engineers, data scientists and consultants, you will contribute to projects across a range of industries, gaining hands-on experience in both technical delivery and client-facing work.

You will assist in building, training and evaluating machine learning models, including data preparation, feature engineering and model testing. You will write clean, well-documented code and support the integration of AI solutions into existing systems and workflows.

A key part of the role involves analysing data, identifying patterns and helping translate analytical insights into practical recommendations. Beyond technical delivery, you will play an active role in collaborative problem-solving.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the design, development and deployment of AI-driven solutions
• Assist in building, training and evaluating machine learning models
• Write clean, well-documented code and support the integration of AI solutions into existing systems and workflows
• Analyse data, identify patterns and help translate analytical insights into practical recommendations
• Participate in collaborative problem-solving, including workshops, stand-ups and design discussions
• Clearly communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
• Support best practices around model governance, ethical AI and data security

Requirements

• Demonstrate a level of ability in Python or similar
• Be passionate about technology and eager to learn programme development to an advanced level

• Be willing to relocate post training for deployment to client site
