Junior AI Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a motivated Junior AI Engineer to support the development and implementation of AI/ML and Generative AI solutions. The ideal candidate should have strong programming fundamentals, an understanding of machine learning concepts, and enthusiasm for building production-ready AI applications.

Responsibilities

• Develop and test AI/ML and Generative AI solutions under guidance from senior engineers.
• Build Python-based applications, APIs, and AI integration components.
• Work with LLMs, prompt engineering, RAG, embeddings, and vector databases.
• Assist with data preparation, feature engineering, model evaluation, and testing.
• Integrate AI models/APIs into enterprise applications and workflows.
• Participate in code reviews, debugging, documentation, and deployment activities.
• Explore emerging AI technologies and contribute to rapid prototypes/PoCs.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, AI/ML, Data Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.

Skills

• Python and basic SQL proficiency.
• Fundamentals of Machine Learning, NLP, and Generative AI.
• Familiarity with LLMs and frameworks such as LangChain/LlamaIndex is preferred.
• Exposure to PyTorch, TensorFlow, or similar ML frameworks.
• Basic understanding of REST APIs, Git, cloud platforms, and software engineering practices.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and learning abilities.

Pay

The base compensation range for this role in the SFO Bay Area is $48,400 - $96,800. Capgemini provides compensation range information in accordance with applicable pay transparency laws. The actual compensation offered may vary based on factors such as geographic location, education, certifications, relevant experience, skills, seniority, performance, market considerations, and internal pay equity.
