The Judicial Department works to provide equal access to justice, contribute to public safety, and strengthen the rule of law across Colorado. Together our courts and probation departments are committed to impartial and timely dispute resolution; support for families, litigants, and victims; client rehabilitation; and meaningful community engagement.
STATEMENT OF DUTIES
- Assists customers with paperwork, answers questions, reviews court forms for completeness, and assigns case numbers.
- Receives and processes incoming correspondence via email, mail, e-filing, and in-person filings, and distribution.
- Serves as a liaison between division/Judicial Officer and customers, directing parties to correct locations and/or divisions, de-escalating situations of stress or conflict, and explaining court processes without providing legal advice.
- Trains within trial court/appellate court procedures.
- Issues orders and notices from the court, including orders regarding case deadlines, extensions of time, notices of new case filings, notices of oral argument, receipt of trial court records, and mandates returning authority to a trial court once case is complete.
- Ensures service to all necessary litigants and trial/appellate courts.
- Completes required trainings and attends meetings as requested.

Supervisor Responsibilities
Job has no responsibility for the direction or supervision of others.
Physical Effort Requirements
Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, a negligible amount of force frequently, and/or constantly having to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally. Work Environment Relatively free from unpleasant environmental conditions and/or hazards. Work Location: Office or similar indoor environment. Exposures None.
